Schaumburg Dental Implants - Teeth Replacement - Full Mouth Restorations
Dental implants have quickly become the most popular and effective restorations available; and for good reason. At Schaumburg Tooth Doctor
, Dr. Modi uses implants to help patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles that last a lifetime.
What Are Dental Implants?
For single teeth and full-mouth restorations, implants provide high quality smile restorations that are functional and aesthetic. Dental implants are posts made using ADA-approved titanium. From our office, these posts are then implanted into the jaw bone by our partnered oral surgeon.
Once implant posts and their abutments have been placed, they will heal, fusing the biocompatible titanium base to the bone. The titanium bases of dental implants act as the roots of natural teeth, providing the jaw with the necessary stimulation to the bone and avoiding shrinkage and deformation. Dr. Modi will then affix the abutment with a zirconia or porcelain-fused-to-metal crown once it is fully integrated in the bone, returning your functional and beautiful smile.
The Benefits of Dental Implants
The primary benefits of dental implants are the structural support they provide. However, dental implants are also preferred because they:
• Are permanent tooth replacements
• Are shade-matched to your natural teeth
• Can be cleaned like regular teeth
• Look like natural teeth
Full Mouth Restorations
Dental implants are not limited to restoring singular teeth, as our practice also provides retained dentures and All-on-4® dental restorations. Implant-supported dentures function much like regular dentures, though they are supported by several anchoring implants. These full mouth restorations are more stable than traditional dentures, and will prevent bone loss and jaw malformation that many patients using traditional dentures experience. While stable, implant-supported dentures are still removable, making them easy to keep clean.
All-on-4® is a state-of-the-art treatment that restores patients the functionality of a full arch. Four implants are placed into diagonally into the bone, requiring less remaining jaw structure than traditional implants. Dental bridges are then retained by screws to the implants, providing patients with a permanent full smile reconstruction option.
Who is Right for Implants?
Dental implants require healthy gums and sufficient bone structure in order to properly fuse to the jaw. Smokers and those who consume excessive alcohol are also at risk for complications during the healing process. Should a patient not meet these requirements, our Schaumburg practice will work to help you receive the necessary periodontal and bone grafting procedures to support dental implants.
